About me
Hi, I’m Ian, thank you for visiting my website. I provide manual driving lessons and I am based in Cirencester. I’m really passionate about safe driving and the safety of my students, helping people grow in confidence, and making the journey to becoming a fully qualified driver as smooth and pleasurable as possible. Here is a little bit about myself: I live in Cirencester, I am married to Elaine and we have two fantastic children who have now fled the nest and now we have a grandson to keep us on our toes. I also enjoy road cycling, films, music and spending quality time with my family.

I have worked in a senior leadership and management role for 15 plus years where I have had various instructor roles within the Royal Air Force, I have been in a training and mentoring/ developing role, on a one-to-one basis, as well as facilitating sessions with groups from ages 18 to 60 - this is when I realised that teaching and training people was what I wanted to do. I have now retired, serving just over 36 years with lots of memorable time both in the air and on the ground. I was fortunate to be trained by LDC with their latest adult coaching and training techniques, so you can be assured the training I give will be of the highest standard.

I’m proud to have trained with LDC, using a modern, flexible coaching system that’s all about adapting to you – your pace, your goals, and your way of learning. I firmly believe that driving lessons should never feel rushed or one-size-fits-all. Every lesson is tailored to make sure you feel supported, challenged (in a good way), and that you’re always making progress.

I’m a big believer in a positive, growth mindset and a “You Can Succeed” attitude - something I bring into every lesson. Learning to drive should feel like a series of wins, not a list of mistakes. I focus on what’s going well, build your confidence step by step, and create a relaxed, compassionate space where you feel safe to learn, grow, and enjoy the journey.
